What does Wow have to offer?

 

Wow Kids is a private day nursery that opened in February 2013. Our qualified and experienced staff are dedicated to the development of the babies and young children in their care. We pride ourselves in basing the children’s play experiences around their individual developmental needs. There are always lots of stimulating activities on offer and plenty of fun things to do, both indoors and outside. 

We are also proud to offer a wrap around care service for children who attend the local Primary Schools. We offer a healthy Breakfast Club and an exciting After School Club for children aged 3 to 11 years old a long with Holiday Clubs outside of term time.

We follow the EYFS framework & we are Ofsted Registered.

 

All welfare and educational activities throughout the setting follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which is the statutory governing document for childcare providers. We are regularly inspected to ensure we meet (or indeed exceed) the requirements of the EYFS by Ofsted, the Local Education Authority and the Health Authorities. In 2023 we were again awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted. You can view our report here.

Passionate about the outdoors...

​

We’re passionate about outdoor play and have two, large outdoor play areas so children can fill their lungs with fresh air, stretch their legs, learn about Mother Nature, watch spiders weave their webs, race each other, play tag, dig holes, make mud pies, climb things and jump in puddles.

 

We have a grassed area for children to explore nature, climb, jump and use our equipment such as slides and other obstacles as well as a paved area for racing around on scooters and bikes, playing in our mud kitchen or making their own exciting games to play with their friends and the practitioners.

An individual approach.

 

We operate a Key Person system, whereby your child is allocated a Nursery Practitioner who will support both you and your child’s needs. They will build up a strong bond with your child during their time with us and help them to feel safe and secure in their new environment. The Key Person is also responsible for building up a Learning Journey for your child. This will include observations, photographs and art work, as well as individually planned next steps to support their individual needs. We use Tapestry software to record your child's achievements and to communicate with parent/carers.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

 

In Wow Kids we have extensive experience in supporting children with special educational needs, children with disabilities and those whose first language is not English. We highly recommend booking a visit to the setting to discuss your child's individual needs and to see how we can cater for them.

Educational & fun!

 

We help to develop children's confidence by encouraging them to choose the activities they want to engage in. However, we also initiate adult-led activities to extend learning. These are themed on a weekly basis so that children gain knowledge and understanding of life topics through activities that they would not necessarily initiate themselves. Topics include themes such as Ourselves, Minibeasts, Seasons, Around the World, Holidays and Celebrations.

 

All activities are delivered through exploration and play, and our children benefit from a structured, safe and well-resourced environment.
